What to check: does the whitepaper or docs state a hard max supply, or does emission scale with the player count forever? Unbounded emission tied to activity is the precise design that killed SLP. If a game brags about "unlimited earning potential," that is not a feature. That is the faucet with the handle snapped off.
2. Sinks vs faucets: is more coming in than going out?
A sink is anything that permanently removes tokens from circulation: burns, crafting costs, repair fees, marketplace fees that get torched instead of recycled. Healthy web3 game tokenomics need the sinks to plausibly keep pace with the faucets. When they don't, the token inflates toward zero no matter how fun the game is.
I want to be careful here, because you'll see people throw around exact "healthy ratio" numbers (X% burned versus Y% minted).
