Playtime
We grind the games ourselves
We actually play the crypto and web3 games we write about, compare them head-to-head, and say honestly which ones are worth your time and your wallet. Degen energy, honest verdicts.
It started with one too many 'GameFi' launches that turned out to be a spreadsheet with a jpeg attached. No real gameplay, no real fun, just a token chart pretending to be a game.
So we started actually playing the things before writing about them. Trading-card duels, play-to-earn grinds, on-chain arena fights, the works. Some genuinely surprised us. Most didn't.
That became DegenLoot. A blog that plays first and writes second. We compare mechanics, economies, and onboarding friction on the same basis, and we say what our verdict is based on.
If a game is mostly marketing, we say so. If a scrappy little browser title is actually fun, we say that too. You should know what you're loading before you connect a wallet.
Most sites in this space just repost the press release. The bigger the funding round, the better the coverage sounds. We earn from affiliate links too, sure. But we only recommend what we'd actually play ourselves.
A free-to-play trading-card game can be genuinely great, while a heavily-funded play-to-earn title can be a chore with a token bolted on. Funding doesn't automatically mean fun. It depends on the actual game underneath.
