Is Axie Infinity Dead in 2026, or Should You Move On?

The reputational damage people remember is actually two separate failures, and casual coverage blends them into one blob.

As a free game to mess with out of nostalgia? Sure. Origins costs nothing to try, and if you already hold sunk Axie assets, you're not crazy to see how the L2 migration and the MMO play out.

As an investment or an income source in 2026? No, and no cap. Every dated metric points the same way, and pre-registration counts are cheap. An unshipped MMO isn't a plan you can bank on. I'd wait and see rather than ape back in.
